Healthy Vending Machines?

Jamo Nezzar's picture

YoMachines PicYes it is possible to get healthy snacks from a vending machine! A company based in San Diego called YoNaturals specializes in vending machines packed with organic and natural snacks and drinks. They carry products such as Luna and clif bars, organic milk, and organic juices. You won’t find the traditional sodas and hydrogenated goodies that are sold in traditional vending machines. Their machines are located in places such as gyms, office buildings, and schools. Too bad they didn’t have something like this when I was in University. I would have avoided eating all those unhealthy snacks that made me fall asleep when I was in the library studying!

I'd like to try something like this. If it's good I would want it in school but heck, probably a few out of the student body would want a vending machine based on "Natural" and "Organic" products.

OOK

Those type of snacks weren't available when I was in school.
I would like to create healthy products for retail distribution through YoNaturals vending machines. I know what products I want to produce.

Can anyone out there tell me the best way to do this. I have a USDA approved kitchen incubator in my city. Healthy organic drinks and snacks for extreme atheletes.

What do you guys think?

I wish they had those kind of things at schools in The Netherlands... but I think that'll take a while because the obesity rate is that high over here.

This would be great for our Days Inn! Replacing snickers bars with protein bars and replacing sodas with vitamin water. I wish I could make the breakfast healthier but the customers love the cheese danish, bagels and donuts!

If you have children you will agree with me that this is what our schools truly need!!

Well ...

I dont have children, but I still agree, 100%!! Thinking back to the high school days (well, even elementary), the majority of kids would buy soft pretzels, pizza, a few containers of milk (the small pint-sized, and it was always chocolate or strawberry), french fries. It was disgusting. And thats basically everyday. If you didnt like what was made that day for your meal, you could buy something else.
