Bad Food Culprit of the Week: Burger King
The Centre For Science in the Public Interest has filed a lawsuit against Burger King. They claim Burger King is “knowingly increasing its customers’ risk of heart disease and early death” by using partially hydrogenated oil in their products. Numerous foods on Burger King’s menu contain high levels of trans fats. An example is the Sausage Biscuit with a large order of Hash Browns. This combination has an incredible 18 grams of trans fat, which is more than the amount that someone should consume in 9 days. The American Heart Association recommends consuming no more than 1% of one’s daily caloric needs from trans fat. If you’re looking for a bit healthier fast food alternative, try Wendy’s. The chain eliminated trans fat from their menu in 2006.

ummm pizza or something!!
burger king isnt really my idea of a good cheat meal, might aswell make the most of it!
I think KFC also started
I think KFC also started eliminating trans fats but I don't know if this was just in one item (chicken) or all their items.
Besides if I'm going to have a treat meal, I'd rather get something really awesome if possible. Burger King isn't necessarily on that list for me.
Yes they have...
KFC has eliminated trans fats (if you care...I can't stand KFC) here's a link here: http://www.cspinet.org/new/200704302.html
I agree that I'd rather have something really awesome too! :)
fakers
beware!!!! although I didn't read the KFC link to the article on trans fat, or wendy's yet, some companies advertise 0 grams trans fat.. PER SERVING!!! ;) that means they still use trans fat!!! and how big is the serving size really? It might just be ONE fry!!! lol. hopefully you see my point. usually when a company advertises ZERO GRAMS, that means there are milligrams of it, meaning its in there... but correct me if im wrong, but it SHOULD be illegal to advertise NO Trans Fat if there is any, which is why companies are so sly and they put ZERO grams, b/c it doesnt round up to 1 gram, sly devils they are!! ;)
